Open Invitation to PLCS Implementers Workshop!

Eurostep , DNV and LOGSA have the pleasure to invite you to a workshop on ISO 10303-239 Product Life Cycle Support (PLCS) Implementations. The purpose of the workshop is to share experience from implementations and identify lessons learned and best practice. The workshop facilitators are Dr Rob Bodington (Eurostep), Trine Hansen (DNV) and Scot Motquin (LOGSA). People attending should have some experience with PLCS implementations and a readiness to share this experience.

PLCS has been a published standard since 2005. It has been successfully deployed in a variety of industries and countries for both data exchange and Enterprise Application Integration. It has had significant impact on business already and take-up is increasing. It is time to review what has been done, what has worked well and where improvements are needed.

The workshop and is open to all and will have a technical focus. The workshop will start with presentations on a series of case studies that highlight the business problems addressed, the technical approach taken, benefits, challenges, recommendations etc. It will conclude with a facilitated forum in which implementation issues are highlighted and recommendations made. Results from the workshop will be presented at PDT Europe 2010, the following days also at Microsoft Reading.

We expect this to be a significant event in the sharing and consolidation of PLCS implementation experience and to contribute to the development of further high quality PLCS deployments. We therefore encourage everyone with experience from PLCS implementations to submit a short abstract summarizing a PLCS deployment case study to be presented.
